  1. I’ve been a fan club of the Howard Schultz for years.  I’m not a coffee drinker but do go into his establishments frequently to buy their Chai Lattes.  I also own a little bit of his stock.   He has a great philosophy and hope that it sticks around for a long time.  Good post.  Sonya

  2. I read about the Starbucks story in the book, The Power of Habit. I was impressed to learn of their mission – to have the best customer service selling coffee – and that they invest in their employees. Great story.

  3. This book was written by the “other” Howard, H. Behar, former President of Starbucks International. That said, I too am a fan of the Starbucks operation and do believe that they’re onto something w/ their put people first philosophy. How else can you explain spending $4.00 +/- for a cup of coffee? (grin).
